We may have songs with darkness, but that doesn’t mean we can’t look to the light. ‘Violet’ is wildly optimistic and for the video we find ourselves in an abandoned building and this time we aren’t feeling sorry for ourselves.
Drawing inspiration from The Vaccines, Jamie T and Circa Waves, The Manatees infuse relatable lyrics, driving rhythms and infectious melodies which have caught the ears of Radio X, BBC6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and Spotify’s ‘Hot New Bands’ playlist.
Behind The Blue Sky started as an attempt to write a song with a guitar hook reminiscent of The Jesus And Mary Chain, then it morphed into something a bit more inspired by Joy Division, now it probably sounds like neither... or both? The lyrics are about navigating a depression.
Dorking based Vinyl Staircase had an amazing 2018, with a sold-out show at London’s The Lexington, support slots with Wolf Alice, Sunflower Bean and Swim Deep, international press and radio plays, and a summer of festivals including Boardmasters and TRUCK. This is their surf-rock new single.
'Football' music video was directed and produced by 'Pilimili films' The video encompasses the message and issues we tried to put forward with gender equality, and how it's still a very important thing to keep talking about in our 'modern' society.
