Unlike the typical post-rock genre tropes, ALTAS delves deep in Rhodes electric piano, cumbia and jazz grooves with post-rock heft. Composed mostly of women and minorities, the band is somewhat an anomaly in the genre. 3 members hail from Mexico, others of Mexican-American descent.
